Analysis of Voiced Speech using Harmonic Models
نویسنده
چکیده
It is very common to consider voiced speech as a periodic or quasi-periodic signal. Therefore, harmonic models are usually proposed for the modeling of this kind of speech. This paper focuses on the harmonic analysis of speech. Three models are presented and compared. The rst model is the simplest among the three models supposing that the speech signal is a stationary signal. The second model does not consider speech as a stationary signal and even though it uses the fundamental frequency as the basic frequency of the signal, it is not a harmonic model. The third model does not make the hypothesis of the stationarity of the speech signal, however, it is a harmonic model.

Estimating the spectral envelope of voiced speech using multi-frame analysis
This paper proposes a novel approach for estimating the spectral envelope of voiced speech independently of its harmonic structure. Because of the quasi-periodicity of voiced speech, its spectrum indicates harmonic structure and only has energy at frequencies corresponding to integral multiples of . It is hence impossible to identify transfer characteristics between the adjacent harmonics. In o...
متن کاملNew analysis method for harmonic plus noise model based on time-domain periodicity score
Harmonic plus Noise Model (HNM) is the two-band speech model which assumes the speech signal to be composed of a harmonic part and a noise part. It is very important to determine the reasonable maximum voiced frequency which delimit harmonic and noise parts for highquality synthetic speech. In this paper, a new analysis method for HNM, especially maximum voiced frequency, is proposed, whereby t...
متن کاملPolynomial quasi-harmonic models for speech analysis and synthesis
Harmonic plus noise models have been successfully applied to a broad range of speech processing applications, including, among others, low bit-rate speech coding, and speech restoration and transformation. In conventional methods, the frequencies, the relative phases and the amplitudes of the pitch-harmonic components are assumed to be piecewise constants over an analysis frame. This assumption...
متن کاملRepresentation of a Voiced Speech Signal Model With Wigner- Ville Transform
Wigner Ville Transform is introduced as a suitable tool for the analysis of the speech signal, as it allows making a correct representation of the signal energy. First, we give a mathematical formulation of the Wigner Ville Transform of a stationary model of voiced speech. The speech model is expressed as a linear combination of the harmonic frequencies of fundamental frequency of the voiced sp...
متن کاملHMM-based speech enhancement using harmonic modeling
This paper describes a technique for reduction of non-stationary noise in electronic voice communication systems. Removal of noise is needed in many such systems, particularly those deployed in harsh mobile or otherwise dynamic acoustic environments. The proposed method employs state-based statistical models of both speech and noise, and is thus capable of tracking variations in noise during su...
